We can find a variety of fine dining restaurants in Dubai but not all of them make an impact on us.Although it is located in the famous Le meridien Hotel, among many other cafes and pubs;Mahec still stands alone.
Mahec stands for Modern Authentic Hindustani Evolved Cuisine. The rich flavours of India could be seen in almost all dishes starting from salads to main course to desserts..The interiors have a classic touch with comfortable seating arrangements. The music played was also soothing. There was also live broadcasting of the Ind-NZ cricket match on the screen.
Though we went for a buffet, several starters were served on our tables too.It includes aloo chaat, pani puri, sev chaat. My favourite was aloo chaat. It was just melting in my mouth.Grilled chicken and fish were also served at our table.both were well marinated and spicy as well.
The salad section was also very vast with khuskhus salad, mahec special salad, fattus salad, mix lettuce, kuchumber salad on the list.Khuskhus salad was quite new to me.
Moving on to the main course,
Dalcha gosht,It is a mutton based dish in thick gravy. The pieces were perfectly cooked and the perfect amount of spices. It was going well with naan.
Butter chicken, another personal favourite of mine.It need not require any introduction as it is a common dish and familiar among us Indians. The chicken pieces were very succulent and the gravy was creamy too.
They did not disappoint the vegetarians as there were few dishes to satisfy them also.Paneer Khada Masala,Aloo gobhi,Kadhi pakoda and Dal makhani were the dishes on the array.Aloo gobhi was the one which impressed me the most.
The buffet will never be completed with the section of desserts.Gulab jamun,Halwa and fruit platter were there to satisfy us.The Gulab jamun was Oh -so -delicious!!!It was perfect for my sweet tooth.
Highly recommended place and Its definitely deserves all the applause. The friday brunch starts from Aed 139 without alcohol.
