Delhi Darbar established in Dubai over three decades ago and is still running successfully in the industry serving multiple cuisines but mostly concentrated on mughlai dishes. They recently opened up a branch in barsha and I got a chance to try out their specialities. The ambience is pretty decent with a spacious dining area.
We called for our drinks first;Orange mojito was the first to come;Awesome one to start with.Sweet lassi which was very smooth and creamy. The last was a strawberry milkshake. It was just ok I would say.
Moving on to the starters;we first ordered a mix grill barbecue platter.I loved the lamb chops which was there in it.It was filled with wonderful flavors and mutton was cooked to perfection.
Tandoori chicken was the next to arrive. The chicken was succulent and was having the right amount of spices.
Nawabi Jhinga;the name was quite confusing for me.It was prawns grilled over charcoal fire. The prawns were well marinated with spices and I loved it a lot.
Chicken tikka masala was the first to arrive among main dishes. It was going well with naans and rotis.
Among veggies we called for a dal makhani; This dish was made of black lentils and kidney beans. The gravy was thick and creamy and is a great option for vegetarians.
Mutton nihari was the next; The mutton was very soft but the gravy was bit down.
We also ordered for a chicken biryani which was my personal favourite among the main course.
Wherever I go the most exciting one is the dessert section and we were not disappointed at all.Kesar pista kulfi was fantabulous and ranked first in this section.Ras malai and Gajar(carrot)halwa were also yummy. Gulab jamun was not that good as I expected.
Definitely a must visit place for having north indian- mughlai dishes with a reasonable price.
