Farzi Cafe is one of the trendiest Indian fusion restaurant in town opened about six months back in Dubai but has a long history in India.It basically creates an illusion with food and its quite thought-provoking each time.I was very thrilled when I was invited again by them for a tasting session.
We were given welcome by Amuse Bouche which is a mango and yoghurt based shots.Really a revitalizing one.
Then came our drinks:
Bootlegger pomegranate mojito A drink which came in a mysterious black box and when it was opened there was a boot shaped glass and it contained pomegranate laced drink.
Another one was an apple and cinnamon based drink. The presentstion itself made us wonder.It was quite a refreshing too.I never had a drink of that flavor.
Dal Chawal Arancini was the first to come among the starters.Pretty impressed with the combination of dal and rice and loved every bit.
Tandoori wild mushroom was the next which actually made us all go wow.It was a dish made of wild mushrooms,walnuts,garlic etc.It was awesomely presented as well.
Deconstructed shepherds pie:It was made of small chunks of meat and potato along with dried beetroot, served in a crescent shaped plate.
Prawns tempura was another show stopper.It had few similarities with shrimp dynamite but the presentation and the foam sauce was exceptional.
Chole kulche tamarind onion salsa another well-presented dish and taste was also good
Among main dishes my favourite was CHICKEN quenelle yakhni , nuts pilaf- It is actually minced chicken balls with masala pulao and yoghurt gravy.The chicken balls were melting in the mouth and was going well with rice.
You should never miss the farzified shawarma biryani, one of the signature dish in Farzi.We were told that the mutton is slow cooked for 8 hours and skewered in the form of shawarma along with rice.Fell in love with it from the first bite.
The most exhilarating part was Desserts;
Dirt pile- deconstructed chocolate cake served with icecream and hot chocolate along with fresh fruits.In fact it did looked like a dirt pile but my sense of taste identified it differently.
Risotto phirni oxide, liquid nitrogen is used to freeze the sweet and mixed with rabdi in order to make an extra ordinary dish.
We left with not just our tummy filled but our mind too.
