Baydar Restaurant,Barsha Mall

I’m very glad to have visited the renovated and perky Lebanese restaurant in Barsha Mall, Baydar. It comes under the same company Abela & Co which is serving in UAE food industry for about 5 decades. The interiors are quite simple with wooden paneled shelves and comfortable seating arrangement. Mr. Suren Rajamohan and his team took well care of us and we got to try the best dishes from the menu.

We started off with hot and cold mezzeh . Among cold mezzeh, I loved the thick and creamy hummus. The other dishes included were tabbouleh, fattoush, muttabal and labneh. The fattoush was really crunchy and the ingredients used were really fresh.
For the hot mezzeh, again a great variety of dishes. Batata Hara was the favorite among these. It was such a simple dish with a spicy fried potatoes and I really cannot stop in a single plate. It was not oily too. Chicken liver with Molasses, Makanek with molasses, Sujuk with tomato and capsicum were the other traditional dishes we had. Sujuk also had a little bit of spiciness which was well suiting my taste.

We have to mention about the small fresh bread which is made in house. It was hot & super soft and was going well with hummus.
For drinks, we tried the strawberry milkshake, chocolate milkshake , fresh orange juice and the fruit cocktail. The chocolate milkshake was smooth and I finished it in a jiffy. The cocktail had real fruit pieces in it and was pretty filling too.

Moving on, Though we were almost full after the hot and cold mezzeh, we did try few of the main courses. A must try dish here is the Lamb chops which was melt-in-mouth and tender soft. We also tried the mix grill with shish taouk, meat arayes and kofta kebab. I loved the crispy meat Arayes out of all. Another dish which we tried was kebab joojeh with Flavored Iranian rice.

Never miss the amazing desserts served here. First is the delectable Umm Ali which is a bread based pudding. Cheese Konafeh was also good enough with gooey cheese below. Mohalabieh was the next that we tried which is suppied from the common kitchen for Abela & Co.

Verdict: Another pocket friendly joint in Al Barsha serving fresh and hot Lebanese and Middle- Eastern delicacies
