I came across Mama rouz a while back and glad to be dined in with family in a very homely atmosphere with courteous staffs. They have a versatile menu featuring Arabic, Indian , Chinese and much more. The dining area is quite spacious as well with some private cabins for families. We started off with the drinks and chose to have virgin pina colada. It was refreshing and quite different from what we had before.
Then came our tom yum soup. We decided to go with the seafood one. I certainly loved the flavours though it looked not so attractive at first.
Arabic mezze ( hummus, spicy salad and tabouleh) It had an Indian touch to it with little bit of spiciness. Hummus was fresh and went well with the pita bread.
Among starters we got to try the Chicken in chilli bean sauce. It was quite appealing and tasted as good as it looked.
Moving on to the main course,
Stir fried noodles was the first to arrive. It was evident that they have not used any artificial flavours to enhance the taste. I really loved the preparation.
The most awaited one was the Mama rouz mutton biryani. Like many who have reviewed before, it is a healthy home made biryani with minimum oil and it taste just like how our mother makes at home. I would definitely go back to have it again . It was seriously yum.
Sizzling brownie – After our heartful meal, we got our hands on the sizzling brownie. It came slightly burnt at first, but when we notified they immediately replaced it with a fresh one. It was pretty delicious.
Finally a mint tea to end our journey here at Mama Rouz.
Verdict: Still a lot of scope for improvement but the Mama Rouz mutton biryani definitely stole my heart.
